What we do
Children and young people are a priority audience for us, so much so that over the past three years, more than 90 per cent of London Marathon Foundation’s funding has been awarded to projects working with children and young people.
The Children and Young People Team at London Marathon Events is on a mission to inspire activity. From teaming up with junior parkrun and The Daily Mile Foundation to hosting high-energy, fun-packed events like the TCS Mini London Marathon and partnering with global icons like the NBA for Jr.NBA 3v3, they’re creating unforgettable experiences that get children active.
Both organisations are partners of Go! London, the capital’s biggest-ever community sports fund. With the Foundation’s funding and LME’s strategic guidance supporting the initiative, more underserved young Londoners can be active, thrive and reach their full potential.

“I think it made me realise how I actually have to work harder, and I shouldn't take what I have right now for granted. Because there are people out there who are hungrier than you, they want to win more than you, so it just shows how much more I have to push myself.’”

“Wow!Wow! Wow! Thank you so much for the most epic day. The organisation from the first email to the finishing line was just outstanding. Such an amazing, safe and awesome day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I am one very happy (buzzing) head teacher, to see the children achieve what they have done today is just joyful, amazing, life affirming and brilliant.”

Participant testimonials
“I think it really boosted my confidence. It's always nice to have that bit of extra validation outside of the club, or school. It was such an amazing thing to be able to have done. I just had random people coming up to me at school and say, 'well done’. It was just nice seeing the support that everyone had for it.’”

What an incredible experience our children, teachers and parents had at the Mini Marathon on Saturday. I've been teaching for a long time and the Mini Marathon is the best school event of the year.
